Who is the course for?
Anyone who is involved in attending sporting events as a spectator, coach or participant and wishes to gain specific knowledge and First Aid skills relevant to the activity. Particularlyideal for events such as football, rugby, tennis, equestrian, hockey, lacrosse, mountain biking. Also suitable for many ‘extreme’ sports.
Minimum Entry Requirements:
16+ years of age. Under 16’s considered on request to the training manager.
Certification:
Certificate of Competency. Issued by the Ambulance Service.
Duration:
One day.
Class Size:
Student / Instructor ratio of 12:1.

Commercial Ambulance Instructor.
Description:
The course provides instruction on treating people of school ageand above.Successful students will be able to:
- Identify Mechanisms of injury & the effects of trauma on the body.
- Manually stabilise the spine.
- Remove safety helmets.
- Manage an accident scene.
- Make an emergency telephone call.
- Assist an ambulance crew with casualty handling.
- Perform Basic Life Support (Resuscitation).
- Arrest of major haemorrhage.
- Recognise serious injury to: Head, Chest,Abdomen/pelvis, Skeleton.
- Perform a top to toe patient assessment.
