Accreditation

We're not normally ones to brag, but...

Since 1953, The Centre for Child Development of the Lower Mainland

has worked to overcome societal barriers for those with disabilities and empower vulnerable children and families throughout the South Fraser Region.

The Centre for Child Development is proud to be the largest program in Western Canada to have consistently received 3-year accreditations from CARF since 2004 for our pediatric outpatient Medical Rehabilitation Services and Child & Youth Services.

What does CARF accreditation mean?

Accreditation is official recognition that our organization is guided by internationally recognized service standards and best practices. CARF accreditation consists of ongoing consultation and in-depth on-site reviews to help The Centre achieve the highest quality of care.

What does it mean for you?

Accreditation demonstrates that The Centre is committed to reducing risk, addressing health and safety concerns, respecting cultural and individual preferences, and providing the best possible quality of care. It demonstrates our commitment to respecting the rights and individuality of our clients, putting their needs at the center of everything we do.

Our Approach

The F-words emphasize your child's strengths, interests and your family's values. They remind us to focus on what children CAN do.

They highlight the importance of all the elements of a child's health and well-being, including social relationships and meaningful participation at home, in school, childcare and in the community.

Based on research & built on the World Health Organization's International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health Framework. www.canchild.ca/f-words
