For the second year in a row, G&F Financial Group has committed the proceeds of their charity golf tournament to supporting The Centre for Child Development. And for the second year in a row, G&F has exceeded their fundraising goal!
This year, despite having to quickly adjust to an online fundraiser due to COVID-19, our friends at G&F surpassed last year’s amount raised. With all funds being matched by a generous anonymous donor, the total raised was $132,000! Funds raised last year went to a much-needed replacement of the flooring in our Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Gyms, upgrading from carpet to cushioned, easy-to-clean flooring (images below).
With the proceeds from this year’s fundraising, we plan to continue the renovations by replacing exterior windows and installing a HVAC system with air conditioning. Originally built in the 1970s to serve hundreds of children, our building is now serving thousands of children year round- improving the HVAC will increase the comfort of our kids, families and staff during the warm summer months.
