Recreation Therapy
Recreation services are designed to help children develop and integrate gross motor skills, independence and communication skills through a number of different programs
We help with a range of abilities from coordination challenges and gross motor delays to cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscle disease or orthopedic conditions.
Our unique therapeutic pool is equipped to enable easy access for all ability levels. Our pool’s warmer water makes therapy easier, relaxing muscles while helping build muscle strength and improve balance. The smaller pool is also quieter and more accessible than community pools for those with sensory sensitivities.
Our team provides consultations, recommending equipment/activities to achieve therapeutic goals. We also offer sessions and groups in conjunction with other therapies (Communication Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy).
Services we offer
- Client consultation: suggest equipment/activities to achieve therapeutic goals
- Therapy sessions and groups: in conjunction with other therapies (Communication, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy)
Who’s eligible?
- Children ages 0-19 living in Surrey, Delta, White Rock or Langley AND displaying a developmental disability
For some programs space is limited and priority may be given to children who are receiving other services from The Centre.
