Join us for a Spring of Giving under The Centre’s Umbrella of Care and help celebrate 65 years of supporting inspiring kids reach their potential!
Celina is three years old, was born with two pituitary glands and is missing the nerve bundle that lets the two sides of her brain talk to each other. Doctors warned her parents that Celina may never walk or talk.
From this picture you can see that she loves coming to both the Surrey and Langley locations of The Centre for Child Development. At least once a week she plays and learns with our occupational therapy, physiotherapy, communication, and eating skills teams.
In this happy place, Celina has made incredible strides. Through six months of working with our speech therapist Jennifer, Celina’s progressed from speaking only a few words to communicating in small sentences. She’s made amazing physical advancements, learning to play with toys, walking, swimming and even running!
The therapies offered at The Centre made these milestones possible for Celina.
Families like Celina’s don’t pay for access to any of our vital treatments. A number of our critical programs aren’t funded by government:
- Casting and splinting
- Eating skills
- Equipment team
- Recreation therapy
- Family services
We need your help to reach our goal of raising $1million every year to continue providing these crucial therapies.
Your tax-deductible gift makes it possible for thousands of children and families to use our services and facilities every year and will have a real impact for kids like Celina!
