What to Expect
Before Your Visit
- Check out our Family Handbook that gives a detailed description of our services and what to expect during your visits at The Centre.
- Gather any reports or information from other service providers, doctors, hospitals that may be useful.
- Your clinician may have an initial call with you to prepare for the first visit.
- Think about any questions you may have and information that might be helpful to your child’s team:
- What are your child’s strengths, skills, interests?
- How does your child play and function in daily life?
- What are your goals for your child?
- What activities does your child enjoy and what would your child to try?
If you or your child is unwell, please contact us to cancel (with as much notice as possible so we can fill appointments with other clients) and we’ll happily reschedule your session. Thank you for keeping everyone healthy and safe!
Your Visit
Parking
- Free parking is available at all our locations- check out our location maps if you need directions.
- Surrey site: please proceed to the front entrance by the house post and roundabout driveway
- Langley site: please enter the building and continue down the hallway past the elevators- we’re the first door on the right side. Please knock loudly!
- Early Years: please note there is a strict 2-hour parking limit and tickets are issued by parking enforcement!

To Prepare
- Bring any reports or information from other service providers that might be useful.
- Please arrive a few minutes before your scheduled appointment and check in at the main reception area.
- To support those with allergies and sensitivities, all our sites are scent-free: please don’t wear any perfumes, deodorants, scented hair-care or body products.

Playroom

Our sensory-friendly playroom is available for children to play before and after your session.
Forms

You may be asked to fill out some forms, which will be explained to you by our staff. If you have questions, please feel free to ask!
Cell Phones

Family are the experts on their children, and your input and participation in sessions is important! During sessions, we ask that you please don’t use your cell phone so you can fully participate.
After Your Visit
After your session, our staff may:
- prepare a report summarizing the session and assessment (if applicable)
- provide you with additional strategies to try at home, or handouts
Any reports or assessments will be sent to you by mail. Please let us know if your address, phone number or email have changed so we can update our records.
